Cook Toovar dal (pigeon peas) and blend it with a hand blender. Boil pumpkin pieces and drumstick pieces
Add Rainbow Sambar Masala, tamarind paste, salt and chilli powder to taste and mix well . Add chopped tomatoes, pumpkin and drumstick. Boil for 5 minutes, then reduce the heat and simmer the Sambar
Heat oil/ ghee in another pan. Add mustard seeds, asafetida (hing), curry leaves and chopped onions and saute for a minute. Add it to Sāmbar
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with idli, dosa, wada, rice or any other South Indian delicacy of your choice
